Phadiatop (inhalant screen)
What it measures, and what changes the number.
Phadiatop is a brand-name blood screening test that looks for allergen-specific IgE antibodies against a mixture of common airborne allergens at once, such as pollens, dust mites, animal dander and moulds. It indicates whether sensitisation to this group is present but does not identify which individual allergen is involved.
It is often ordered with total IgE and sometimes with eosinophil counts or eosinophil cationic protein, which give a broader picture of allergic activity. When the screen is positive, labs may follow up with tests for single allergens.
The result is usually reported as positive or negative, sometimes with a semi-quantitative value, and depends on the specific assay platform. No fasting is needed. Labs may print it as Phadiatop (pool de neumoalergenos).
